4-18. Timeout and Alarm Capability.
a. Purpose. The purpose of this test is to verify that the
l e c t o r control will time out and actuate an alarm properly.

385-028, is required for this test.
C. T e s t C o n n e c t i o n s a n d C o n d i t i o n s . T h e f o l l o w i n g t e s t c o n -
nections and conditions apply to this procedure.
(1) If the equipment must be kept in continuous operation,
perform this test during periods of light traffic.
(2) The busy position for BSY switches is with the slot
horizontal. The normal position is with the slot vertical.
(3) The selector control referred to as the one under test
is considered to be the one on the near side of the equipment row.
The one referred to as the reverse side selector control is con-
sidered to be the one on the far side of the equipment row.
(4) When connecting the SELECTOR CONTROL AND MF SUPPLY
c o n n e c t o r o n t h e t e s t s e t , to the SEL CONT TEST connector on the
s e l e c t o r b a y f r a m e , use cord and plug assembly SC-207190-669,
which is supplied with the test set.
